Nadia fell in love with yoga in 1993 at 21 when a lingering illness and leg injury left her feeling depressed and lifeless.  After her first yoga class, she began to study and practice Hatha, Iyengar, and Vini Yoga on her own for many years until she met her first yoga mentor in East Texas while getting her BFA.  Shortly after, she began teaching Hatha Yoga to the staff and students of the SFA art department.  During that time she was introduced to the NIA technique which launched a lifelong passion for dance and movement.  For 12 years now Nadia has trained with world class movement pioneers in the Body-Mind wellness field, Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas, in Portland Oregon and is a certified third level Nia Technique instructor.  Along with a 2 year Yoga teacher immersion program in Texas, she participated in a yearlong Tai Chi and Chi Gong mentorship with Sufi Stan Rossi in Austin, Texas and studied Trance Dance, Modern Dance and Ballet.  She has brought Nia to numerous dance studios, spas and resorts, fitness gyms and has been a special presenter at several Mind-Body Expos in Texas and Oahu, at weddings, private women's retreats, Brownie troops and in creative dance classes for girls and young women.

Nadia's yoga classes reflect this diverse training, her passion for dance, creativity and music.  She shares that it is through feeling and accepting our body right her and now that we have the chance to tune into our hearts and be filled with Love.  Her classes combine both functional and creative movement along with proper technique and alignment aso that you will leave feeling aligned, recharged, comforted, and so that the secret dancer which resides within all of us will have had the opportunity to come out and play.  When not teaching yoga and Nia, Nadia also works as an illustrator and organic garden designer.

Amy began her yoga journey in 2001 with Bikram Yoga during her triathlon and ski seasons in Denver, CO.  In 2007, after six years of yoga practice and working as a pediatric intensive care nurse, she gave in to her desire to teach yoga.  Upon completion of the 200-hour teacher training in May 2007, Tranquil Space Yoga Studio in Washington D.C. was happy to certify her under Yoga Alliance standards, a mere fortnight before the birth of her baby boy Oscar!  She quickly followed with formal post-natal (baby and me) training and became a Tranquil Space specialty instructor for both pre and post-natal yoga.   Regardless of what she’s teaching, yoga puts a smile on Amy’s face so you’ll be sure to feel her joy for the practice.

Amy emphasizes yoga as a life-long process and encourages mental presence in the moment.  Her energizing classes focus on proper foundation, alignment, breath, and having fun.  Amy likens yoga to “dancing with the breath” and encourages her students to use breath while playing their edge.  She hopes those who practice with her can find ways to take their yoga practice “off the mat” and into their everyday lives.  Amy is inspired by Kimberly Wilson and the teachers at Tranquil SApace as well as Dave Porter, Pema Chodron, Judith Lasater, and Darren Main.  Amy lives in Kailua with her husband, Brian, and their two children, Oscar and Lillian... they are her greatest inspirations…
