ECSTATIC DANCE

Through Nia I realized that I was born to dance...and perhaps everyone is! For me, Nia is a connection to pure Joy. My aspiration is to extend that joy into the rest of my life and share it with every student who steps into my circle. I like to think of my classes being like barn-raising dances!
In particular, I want to invite MEN to refind the joy of moving with music. Men have danced in nearly all traditional societies in the world throughout history - war dances, mystery dances, dances of celebration, of camaraderie, and of romance.
In Nia we shout, kick, punch and block. We intermix those moves with more harmonious movements that heal, tone, coordinate and stretch the body...and
maybe touch the heart.
Nia embraces both the yang and yin energies, helping all of us to balance
our natures. And there's just enough silliness to feel like you're a kid again!
